Folkestone Artworks / Folkestone Triennial, Folkestone, UK
2 September–5 November
Jyll Bradley’s acclaimed installation for Triennial 2014 re-opens to the public for the first time in three years. Green/Light (for M.R.) is constructed on the site of the Old Gas Works in Folkestone. The work is set out as a hop garden, twinning the traditional grid of poles, wires and string drawing of Kent’s historic agriculture with minimalist aluminium and edge-lit Plexiglas. This highly personal sculpture reflects the artist’s history in Folkestone and London – and creates a space for others to consider the dualities in their own pasts and futures.
